Description

Clare's GRA representative says members are concerned at the impact of the continued roll out of the policing model which merges the forces in Clare and Tipperary. It comes as the Garda Representative Association is continuing to hold its annual conference in Westport county Mayo today, where members are discussing issues including Garda morale, staff retention and an increasing number of assaults on Gardaí. Prior to the merging of the forces in the two counties, Clare had one Chief Superintendent and four Superintendents based in the county. Clare's GRA Representative Garda Paul Crowley says members in this county feel the amalgamation of Garda divisions is not beneficial to the people of Clare.
