Description
A Fine Gael Councillor is calling for the route of the West Clare Greenway to be integrated with the Burren & The Cliffs of Moher. The iconic landmarks are currently awaiting the redesignation of UNESCO global heritage site status, while the Local Authority are hoping to commence construction of the 85km active travel trail in early 2027. Currently the preffered route will traverse Ennis to Ennistymon ,before moving south into Lahinch and onto Moyasta. However, Lisdoonvarna Councillor, Joe Garrihy who raised the matter of this months meeting of the Municipal District believes linking the trail to the prominent attractions would significantly increase tourist spending.
