Clare CATU Describes RTB Rental Report As "Completely Misleading"

The Clare Community Action Tenants Union has described the RTB's latest rental sector survey as "completely misleading." The report commissioned by the Residential Tenancies Board found that based on a sample size of 1,200 tenants, 49% were hopeful of owning their own home in the next ten years. However, the findings also revealed that 79% of all small landlords remaining in the market are over the age of 45, which is an increase in just the last year. Clare Chairperson of the Community Action Tenants Union George Stavrou says local renters are facing into a desperate situation.
