Description
Clare Animal Welfare is advising pet owners to not disturb their animals if they are scared by fireworks. Research from the National Protective Security Authority found that dogs can hear sounds up to 4 times quieter than humans so loud bangs such as fireworks can cause the animal distress. Pet owners should also be mindful that many sweets and chocolate from trick or treating can be poisionous to dogs if consumed. Director and Treasurer of Clare Animal Welfare, Stiofan Mac Gabhann says it is best to leave the pet rest by themselves during the scary moments.
