<p>The Civil Service Commission is a Charter mandated component of Sacramento County government. Established in Article XVI of the Charter approved by the citizens of Sacramento County, the Commission is a nonpartisan public body responsible for policy direction and oversight of the merit system for the selection, promotion and retention of civil service employees in Sacramento County service.​</p>
