Christian Porter's emphatic denial

As far as denials go, this one was emphatic, strenuous and categorical. The Attorney-General Christian Porter told a press conference in Perth yesterday that he never had sexual relations with a 16-year-old girl he met at a debating event in Sydney 33 years ago, when he was 17. She has accused him of rape. The woman who made the allegation took her own life last year, and police in NSW have wrapped up their inquiry. So is that the end of the matter?
