Description

Today and tomorrow high-pressure and west to northwesterly flow warms temperatures into the upper 50’s and low 60’s, while the dryness and moderate to severe drought continues. Friday an upper-level trough moves through the northern Plains flattens the ridge some and trails a cool front and gusty north-northwest winds through the area with temps dropping into the 40’s for highs and teens for lows for a few days. Friday’s winds could gust over 50 mph, thus blowing dust and fire danger condition may become a concern. Otherwise, the warmer than normal and the tranquil January weather will continue as well.
