Description

Today and the remainder of the 5-day period the forecast will be hot and mostly dry. Today and tomorrow’s highs will hit triple digit readings with a heat advisory in place for locations east Hwy 25 then Saturday temps drop a bit back mid to upper 90’s through the weekend. The only reprieve from the heat are a couple shortwave troughs kicking off the Rockies in the evenings today, Friday and Saturday that could trigger some isolated storms mostly out over eastern CO with a few possible sneaking across the State lines into NE and KS. Monday and Tuesday the 4-corners ridge amplifies again reaching into Plains and highs climb back into the 100’s. Along with the 100-degree heat, breezy south winds, and low afternoon relative humidity will elevate fire concerns. Overnight lows in the upper 60’s and low 70’s and there could be some heat high wind downbursts.
