Show Notes: CERN: The European Organization for Nuclear Research Large Hadron Collider: The world’s most powerful particle accelerator in Geneva, Switzerland. Particles race around a 17 mile underground circular track at nearly the speed of light guided by a series of superconducting magnets. Researchers smash particles together to recreate the conditions that occurred one/billionth of a second after the “big bang.” It is the largest scientific instrument ever created. The result could create new particles never seen before to answer certain questions: 1 Why do objects have mass? 2 What is dark matter? 3 Find other dimensions of time and space Main objective is to find out more about how our universe works.
