Buckets of Money

I love the idea of segregating how my money is managed. It helps to see a specific purpose and helps to track how my goals are being supported. We at MainStreet Financial Planning, Inc, have been using this concept for a while. Buckets of Money. There are imaginary buckets. There are not real, but they do help us visualize if we have short-term goals, mid-term goals and long-term goals and how our savings and investment accounts will help achieve them, and how we should be investing them.
