BrightID: Gamifying identity social graphs with Philip Silva

Today we are chatting with Philip Silva, the Founding Advisor at BrightID. We discuss digital identity, social graphs, and how BrightID works. Philip says, "BrightID is a verification that you exist once within any given context." Further explaining that BrightID can be used for different personas, allowing you the freedom to choose how you present yourself depending on the context. BrightID also provides a level of Sybil resistance to applications that wish to validate that each person is participating once. They want anyone in the world to participate. But how do they validate that they are participating only once? He gives the example of the CLR Fund using quadratic funding to distribute $250,000 from the ETH Foundation to Latin American projects during ETHColombia. Lastly, we go over the latest update to BrightID, Aura, a multiplayer game of sorts that anyone is welcome to play to help verify those they already know.
