<p>We are overviewing the book of Jonah with Dr. John G. Mitchell. </p><p> As Dr. Mitchell notes, the book of Jonah is not a parable but is real history as verified by our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 12. </p><p> Jonah is presented in the New Testament in two ways. </p><p> 1st of all he is a testimony of the preaching of the Word of God to the gentiles and all who will hear. </p><p> 2nd, Jonah is a type of the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. </p><p> A brief outline of the Book of Jonah is Chapter 1 Jonah’s call and failure. Chapter 2 Jonah in the fish and his deliverance. Chapter 3 Jonah recommissioned to preach to the people of Nineveh.
