But being present doesn&#39;t just mean being in the same room as them or being available when they need you. Being present means being engaged and involved in what&#39;s going on in their lives. It means listening to them, really listening, and hearing what they&#39;re saying. It means taking an interest in the things they&#39;re interested in. In short, it means making them feel like they matter.
