Before co-founding the <a href="http://www.icanpeacework.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">International Civil Society Action Network</a>, Sanam was raised in Iran, fled with her family and became a British citizen, and is now raising two daughters in the US. She is an intellectual, activist, and community builder leading a network of women peacebuilders working to prevent violent extremism by promoting peace, rights and pluralism in over 30 countries.
