Benue man stabs wife to death, says she’s no longer submissive

<p>A man identified as Bem Matthew of Korinya-City, Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State, has been arrested by the police for stabbing his wife to death.</p>, <p>DAILY POST learnt that the man perpetrated the act around 7:03 am on Tuesday.</p>, <p>Neighbors stormed the scene of the incident and apprehended the suspect while the deceased’s body was taken to the mortuary.</p>, <p>The suspect was eventually arrested by men of the Konshisha Divisional Police Station.</p>, <p>Responding to questions at the police station, the suspect confessed that he stabbed his wife to death because she was no longer “submissive to him”.</p>, <p>An eyewitness, who spoke on the condition of anonmity, said the deceased was stabbed on the rib, back and thigh.</p>, <p>DAILY POST gathered that the union between the man and his wife was blessed with four children.</p>, <p>The remains of the deceased was deposited at the mortuary of Saint Joseph’s Clinic and Maternity, Korinya City .</p>, <p>Efforts to get the reaction of the Benue State Police Command were not successful as the spokesperson, SP Catherine Anekwe, could not be reached for comments.</p>
