They look like a plant, but coral reefs are considered animals—they are invertebrates like jellyfish and sea anemones.  Coral reef structures help slow down and shrink waves as they hurtle towards shore, which helps protect coastlines from hurricanes, cyclones and tsunamis. Coral reefs are incredibly fascinating!! there are several documentaries like 'chasing coral' and 'the perfect coral reef' on youtube and the national geographic channel</p>
