Eventually, the alcohol was removed from the recipe during prohibition, and cherry cordials were instead made with cherry flavored sugar syrup.  in 1864 Italian immigrant confectioner Angelo Cella begins making cherry cordials in America....then in 1948 Rival confectioner Queen Anne’s arrived on the scene.   </p>
