An Taisce Pond Project Comes To Clare

On Friday's Morning Focus, Pat Flynn was joined by Con Corry, Garden Supervisor of Ennis Men's Shed and An Taisce's pond advisor Feighlím Harty. An Taisce are running a new Pond Project which aims to enhance the role that ponds can play as biodiversity refugia by supporting capacity development and expertise in pond creation, management and conservation. Feighlím explained what the Pond Project is all about and what it hopes to achieve. He also highlighted that ponds are magnets for biodiversity in an ecosystem. Con discussed how the Ennis Men's shed became involved with the Pond Project and spoke about the progress that their ponds have been making in efforts to attract wildlife.
