<p>Growing up in Philadelphia, Manuel had all the odds stacked against him. Not having a present father as well as being told he could never play the sport he loved, basketball, ever again, Manuel made a decision to believe God for the impossible. Upon almost achieving his dream of play collegiate basketball, Manuel gave it up in order to take care of his mother.
