Advocates Want Animal Shelter For Rensselaer County

Supporters in Rensselaer County are continuing their push for a county-wide animal shelter, despite opposition from the County Executive and the Republican Majority in the Legislature. In January 2023, Mohawk Hudson Humane Society severed eight municipal contracts in Rensselaer County after struggling with capacity.
