A stretch and a run: Brazil’s ex-president returns

<p>Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva left office with a sky-high approval rating, having raised millions from poverty—but was then convicted of corruption. <a href="https://www.economist.com/the-americas/2022/04/09/hailed-as-a-saviour-derided-as-a-thief-lula-is-back" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Now</a> he wants his old job back.
