A Couple Nice Days Behind A Cool Front; Summer Heat & Dryness Returns Sun-Tue; Remains Hot W/Only Scattered Preciptation Heading to September

<p>Today and tomorrow behind a cool front cooler more seasonal daytime temperatures will be in the 80’s and will be brief relief before we head right back into the 90’s Sunday and early next week.  The upper-level trough and low-pressure system associated with this cool front and heavy rain and some severe weather we saw in southwest Nebraska yesterday evening and overnight will move away from the area and through the northern Plains, while high-pressure builds in behind it.  Sunday flow will return to a southwest direction, and this will turn-up the heat and dry conditions through Tuesday.  This will intensify the moderate to severe drought conditions found in areas that have seen very little or widely scattered precipitation this summer and elevate fire danger concerns.</p>
