<p>Ho ho ho! Merry (almost) Christmas! Yep, it’s the time of year where we gather around the fire, drink hot wine, eat our own body weight in Celebrations and fall out with our family over games of Pictionary. And what better way to get in the festive spirit than by joining us for the inaugural Christmas Album Clash (soon to become a time honoured tradition)!</p> <p>Kicking things off this week we take a look at arguably the definitive Christmas album, 1963’s ‘A Christmas Gift to You’ from Phil Spector and the entire Philles coterie of artists (seriously, how come it’s always known as ‘Phil Spector’s Christmas Album? How many other albums do you know that are named after the producer?)</p> <p>Even if you’ve never heard the album you surely can’t have escaped hearing many of the songs as you wheel your shopping trolley round Tesco?
