Description

Welcome to the TeachStrong Talks Podcast! I’m Sam and I’m on a mission to help school staff discover truly effective approaches to well-being. This podcast is all about tapping into the knowledge and experience of real experts who can break down the research and the tools that we can apply to our everyday lives to feel happier and healthier. Today we’re joined by Educational Psychologist Duncan Gillard. Duncan is the co-author of the popular self-help book Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for Dummies and of several peer-reviewed articles on the subjects of ACT and Contextual Behavioural Science (CBS). Duncan also works to promote and improve children’s wellbeing and resilience through whole schools approaches and interventions, as well as on the delivery of group and individually-based ACT coaching interventions to support teachers’ wellbeing and valued-living. During the episode, we chat about Duncan's background, the work he does as an educational psychologist, and the tools that he is working to bring to schools across the country to improve children's resilience and wellbeing. Enjoy the conversation!
