3.7.9: Crowns and Rewards for Every True Believer in Heaven! Which do You Want?

<p>If you are a true, born again believer in Jesus Christ, a reward and/or crown awaits you in Heaven! First and foremost, understand that these rewards are not anything the you can purchase by doing <a href="https://seekthegospeltruth.com/2020/01/09/are-you-good-enough-to-get-into-heaven/">good works</a>. No! We are redeemed and are purified by what Jesus did on the cross — HIS work. When we believe in Him and HIM only, we accept the fact that He did all the work for us. We are purified by HIS blood. There is nothing we can do on our own — by ourselves or through a church — to gain us entrance into <a href="https://seekthegospeltruth.com/2020/12/18/heaven-or-hell-where-you-spend-eternity-is-your-choice-and-money-wont-help/">Heaven</a>. Therefore, once we are saved, we are to do good. Based on what we do with the <a href="https://seekthegospeltruth.com/2020/10/21/the-body-of-christ-has-many-parts-and-each-part-has-a-spiritual-gift/">Spiritual Gifts</a> that He gives us when we receive the <a href="https://seekthegospeltruth.com/2022/06/04/pentecost-gift-holy-spirit-changed-the-world/">Holy Spirit</a>, we will get a reward and/or a crown. Let’s see what the Bible has to say about these heavenly prizes.</p> <p>The word “Crown” in Greek is “Stephanos”, where we get the name Stephen. Who, by the way, was the <a href="https://seekthegospeltruth.com/2022/06/25/day-of-the-christian-martyr/">first Christian Martyr</a>. It means “a badge of royalty, a prize in the public games, or a symbol of honor.” In the ancient Greek culture, it was the crown given to winners of races and competitions. It was a laurel wreath made of leaves that eventually wither away. We’ll see that the crowns we get in Heaven will never wither away.
