28-year-old footballer, Raphael Dwamena collapses, dies

<p>Raphael Dwamena, who plays for KF Egnatia, has collapsed and died.</p>, <p>The UK Mirror reports that the 28-year-old passed away after suffering from a fatal heart attack.</p>, <p>The former Ghanaian international was playing against Partizani Tirana on Saturday, when he collapsed in the 23rd minute of the game.</p>, <p>The match was abandoned as medical staff tried to resuscitate Dwamena.</p>, <p>He was eventually rushed to the nearest hospital in Kavaja, but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival after suffering another heart attack.</p>, <p>Dwamena first became aware of a problem with his heart when a defect was discovered in 2017.</p>, <p>He had an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) fitted in October 2021, after collapsing during an Austrian Cup match.</p>, <p> </p>
