2259: Strike actions by university lecturers

<div>President Kiir on Thursday directed the Ministry of Finance to pay February and March salary arrears and allowances to all Public Universities based on an updated salary scale.<br> <br> The Directive comes after lecturers and non-academic staffs from Bahr-El-Ghazal, Rumbek and Upper Nile Universities threatened to lay down their tools due to unpaid arrears.<br> <br> This is not the first time Lecturers and non-academic staffs from the five public universities have threatened – or have gone ahead to lay down their tools due to unpaid arrears.<br> <br> This morning, Sani Martin and the guests discussed the continuous trikes by university lecturers and possible solutions.
