Description

On "EWTN News Nightly" tonight: As the fight for the pro-life movement continues, the oral arguments in Dobbs v Jackson Women's Health Organization presented a variety of issues for the justices to debate. Their questions ranged from asking when life begins to why viability would be the most appropriate legal standard. President of the Ethics and Public Policy Center, Ryan Anderson, gives us his take on the oral arguments. Senior Counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom, Erin Hawley, tells us why pro-lifers should be encouraged by the oral arguments. One of the pro-lifers who rallied outside the Supreme Court during the hearings was Sarah St. Onge. She shares her story of how she went from being a single teen mother to a pro-life advocate. And the Supreme Court also rebuked initial attempts to block the Texas Heartbeat Law that protects unborn children by banning abortions after the child's heartbeat can be detected. While pro-lifers celebrate the news, the Biden Administration is not happy. Meanwhile, all 212 Republicans and some at large members, have signed a discharge petition for the Born Alive Survivors Protection act. It needs 218 signatures to go to the House floor for a vote. Finally this evening, the USCCB declared October Respect Life Month. At the same time, pro-lifers joined together outside of abortion clinics for 40 Days for Life. They share how they prayed to end abortion and why this mission is so important. Don't miss out on the latest news and analysis from a Catholic perspective.
