069 Amandeep Doll: How to break away from a life that meets other peoples' expectations and develop your own path in life

<p>On this week's episode I am delighted to introduce Amandeep Doll to the podcast. Aman is the current&nbsp;Head of Professional Belonging at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Great Britain (RPSGB). She also has experience working in hospital pharmacy, education &amp; training in both hospital and university settings, and has worked at a national level for Health Education England (HEE). Her role with HEE was part of the&nbsp;Chief Pharmaceutical Officer’s Clinical Fellow Scheme. This scheme is a unique leadership development&nbsp;opportunity for pharmacists offered through the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (<a href="https://www.fmlm.ac.uk/CFS-pharmacy#:~:text=The%20Chief%20Pharmaceutical%20Officer's%20Clinical%20Fellow%20Scheme%20was%20established%20in,clinical%20leaders%20of%20the%20future.">FMLM</a>). It is designed to support and develop pharmacists who present with the clearest potential to develop as clinical leaders of the future.</p> <p>Today's episode features a variety of interesting topics:</p> <p>- Growing up in an Asian household, expectations from family members, and how this has impacted her professional career</p> <p>- Moving away from home early in her career which was quite unusual for a girl of Asian heritage and how this gave her freedom and independence to make decisions for herself rather than what was expected of her.</p> <p>-&nbsp;How an unexpected divorce after 2 years of marriage&nbsp;impacted her life and career plans. Aman started a new job at the same time as getting divorced, however, she didn't really deal with her emotional/mental health in that moment.
