THE STRATEGIC ROLE OF MISSIONS SPONSORS TO KINGDOM ENLARGEMENT : Rev Jonathan Odega

<p>The kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is meant in our context, is not with physical boundaries as seen in earthly kingdoms. It is the body of spiritually active people who have surrendered their lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, have confessed Him as their Lord and Saviour, and are committed to living their lives after the teachings of the word of God as seen in the Bible. This kingdom also includes those who lived and died in Christ and have gone to be with Him in heaven.</p> <p>The Lord Jesus summarized the kingdom expansion work in the scripture as He was about to ascend to heaven.</p> <p>“Jesus came and told His disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 NLT)</p> <p>Every effort we make, spiritually and physically, to obediently carry out this instruction of the Lord is part of the kingdom expansion programme. Hudson Taylor, the great missionary to China, popularized this last command of the Lord Jesus to His followers by describing it as the Great Commission.</p>
