Tenga Rangitauira: Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ruamata head coach on the school's hockey team making history at the Rankin Cup

<p>The elite national secondary schools hockey tournament, the Rankin Cup, was held in Wellington last week.</p> <p>Bay of Plenty school Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ruamata made history as the first Māori immersion school ever to feature at Rankin Cup.</p> <p>Incredibly, the school has a roll of just 200 and just 36 high-school aged boys to choose from for the team- and in their first match they beat last year's finalists St Andrews College.</p> <p>Piney catches up with their head coach, Tenga Rangitauira, to talk about their incredible achievement. </p> <p><strong>LISTEN ABOVE</strong></p> <p> </p><p>See <a href="https://omnystudio.com/listener">omnystudio.com/listener</a> for privacy information.</p>
