<p><strong>Ikechukwu Opara,&nbsp;</strong>is a<strong>&nbsp;</strong>postharvest technology management expert. His research interest is in food security and sustainability, with a particular focus on post harvest losses and waste along food value chain.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>He holds a&nbsp;postgraduate diploma and Master of Philosophy&nbsp;degree in sustainable development planning and management. He is currently completing his PhD in the department of food science, faculty of agrisciences at Stellenbosch University and joins us in this edition to share a guide to implementing a food waste policy on farm level with clear steps for Mzansi’s food producers.&nbsp;</p>
