North Clare Councillor Claims Public Should Not Be Deterred From Visiting Lahinch

A North Clare Councillor claims members of the public should not be deterred from visiting Lahinch this week. On the advice of the HSE, Clare County has issued an advisory do not swim notice for the town's prominent beach following the detection of high levels of bacteria in the bathing area. Although Lahinch's coveted An Taisce Blue Flag has temporarily been removed it has not been replaced by its red equivalent, with the decision to swim at the discretion of visitors. Ennistymon Fianna Fáil Councillor Shane Talty says while the latest warning is disappointing, there's still plenty of activities for tourists in Lahinch and its surrounding areas.
