Mary Fogarty Speaking With Clare FM's Fiona Cahill About ICU Nurses Ballot And ED Overcrowding

The INMO's Midwest representative has warned that nurses in more areas of the region's main hospital are considering industrial action. The union is to ballot Intensive Care Unit nurses at University Hospital Limerick over the coming weeks, after "exhausting negotiations at local level", with management to be notificed of the outcome thereafter. The INMO says "the lack of consistent safe staffing in the Intensive Care Unit is having a detrimental impact on the physical and mental wellbeing of members working in this unit and their patients". INMO Midwest Representative Mary Fogarty has been telling Clare FM's Fiona Cahill that nurses in other areas of the hospital are considering a similar path, due to the high levels of overcrowding there.
