Kidnapped Cross River APC council chairman still in captivity

<p>Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ikom LGA in Cross River State, Matthew Egomo, who was kidnapped with his son on 19 November, has not been rescued.</p>, <p>They were kidnapped along Ikom Ogoja Road close to Afi River in Nde Ward about 15 km from Ikom Local Government Area headquarters.</p>, <p>Sources said the police were able to neutralise the five-man gang which kidnapped the APC chairman.</p>, <p>State Police Command PRO SP Irene Ugbo, who is currently on leave said she was not aware of the incident but promised to find out.</p>, <p>Meanwhile, kidnappers are reported to have received over N50 million from another victim, a proprietor of a nursery school who was kidnapped in the same Ikom LGA a few weeks ago.</p>
