But it’s the rare moment when we consider the narrative of a nation and its cultures. Maybe that story feels removed, remote, part of an imagined past, once upon a time.</p><p>But looking deeply at the narrative of a nation opens a window into its cultures, some of them so deeply ingrained that we take them for granted. Here in America the gun culture is a symbol of a way of life based on myth, legends, fantasy, and slick marketing. Guns are not just tools but a means to access power, conquest, celebrity, supremacy, equality, freedom from poverty, crime and weakness.</p><p>Gun control isn’t a Second Amendment argument; it’s a cultural argument. Until we understand our own history we’ll keep reaching for guns to hold at bay the perceived enemy.    </p><p><strong>Question</strong>: I’m tired of being quiet. I want to know how guns got to control our nation’s narrative? How do we re-write our story?
