60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday: A Second Chance to Say “Thank You!”

<p>Hello to you listening in <a href="https://www.jersey.com/guides-features/insiders-guide-to-st-helier">Saint Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands</a>!</p><p>Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.</p><p>One summer of my college years I was dating a really rich guy who let me drive his really nice car that Saturday night. He and I, his brother and the girlfriend shared a few beers before we piled into the car and headed out.  </p><p>I remember the crunch from the right as my forehead hit the rear-view mirror and both cars stopped in a 4-way lighted intersection. To this day I believe the elderly woman who T-boned the car sped up the steep incline and ran the light. But because I was young and had beer breath there was another, more plausible explanation. And yet, no charges filed, no damages, no nothing, but this lesson.</p><p>Some days I do not fully appreciate how a great wind is bearing me across the sky. With this story I get another chance to say “<i>Thank you</i>!”</p><p><strong>Question</strong>: When have you been given another chance to say “<i>Thank you!</i>”?</p><p><i>This is the place to thrive together.
