Welcome to our first LIVE podcast!!! This was filmed live at the Asheville Herb Festival in May 2023

⭐Today we’ll be chatting with some regional herbalists and amazing wise women: Jeannie Dunn, Director of Red Moon Herbs. Lorri Burra, founder of certified organic hemp and herb farm Green Heart Gardens. Byron Ballard, local author and educator on Appalachian folk magic and Hillfolk hoodoo; and Ceara Foley, director of Appalachia School of Holistic Herbalism. This is quite the power panel!

⭐We have come here today to talk about a serious but important topic, one which illustrates a very good reason as to why we should all try to source our food and herbs as locally as possible, ethically forage and wildcraft, or grow our own!

⭐What are your top three herbs/veggies for food security, how to keep it local when the supply chain may fail?

🌼Why Stories From the Earth? Humankind’s relationship to the natural world is as diverse and dynamic as each individual plant, animal, mineral, and piece of geography. There are many ways that we can engage with our living planet, be it through herbalism, gardening, hiking and other explorations, meditation and observation, and even artistic expressions. There are many ways for us to connect, and it is important to do so, as the human species is not a separate entity from the whole web of life. Each takes their own path. This series explores some of the many ways in which people may weave a tapestry of meaning in coexistence and mutuality with what surrounds us, these are Stories From the Earth.

🌼This podcast asks the question: what are the many ways in which we can connect with nature in this disconnected society? And how can storytelling help us do this. We invite you to journey with us as we explore nature through stories. These are the stories from the earth!

✨Jeannie Dunn's Links:

Red Moon Herbs
