VENUS BLEEDS

Venus Bleeds is an autodidactic queer singer, songwriter, director, composer, poet and visual artist from Beirut, Lebanon. His musical creations contrast howling vocals with classical string and electronic-synth arrangements that interpolate in anamorphic eerie visuals to set a mystifying, vulnerable mood. Venus has been described as an electronic reiteration of horrorcore queer cult-pop classics vibrating over emotive Gregorian-like chants that holistically resonate within the listener's utmost core. His songwriting, influenced by greater psychologists and poets, has a philosophical questioning character – subjects like middle eastern tragedy, gender diversification, shapeshifting, intersectional feminism, queer trauma and perception of vulnerability are clearly present throughout his universe. Male feminine energy is celebrated within. Venus plays with psychological simulations of identity and philosophical fantasies that can hardly ever be distinguished from reality. A perpetual and multidimensional shapeshifter, Venus embodies the power of male femininity and the truest essence of "Venus As A Boy". Bleeds' work bolsters the importance of vulnerability in human connection, amidst a digital era. He independently released his debut project “CATHARSIS” in 2020 – a portrayal of queer middle-eastern trauma against the tides of hyper-masculinity. In “CATHARSIS” Venus audio-visually describes healing mechanisms as “stages” that one traverses through to reach revelation.
