To Accomplish God’s Purpose We Must Conquer Our Souls  <br/><br/>2 Cor 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new <br/><br/>The new birth is a spiritual birth not a mental or physical birth<br/><br/>1 Thess 5:23-24 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. <br/><br/>The soul – mind, will and emotions and the body are not made new so here is where Satan tries to take advantage of us <br/>The most important thing we can teach a new Christian is the renewing of the mind as a defense against Satan <br/>If the believer doesn’t deal with his soul and body he will continually be opening the door to the devil<br/><br/>Eph 4:27 nor give place to the devil <br/><br/>2. How Receiving and Practicing the Word Saves the Soul<br/><br/>Js 1:21-22 lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.  22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves <br/><br/>Engrafted – to implant, planting seeds and allowing them to grow<br/>Save (sozo) deliver, protect, heal, preserve to make well and whole<br/><br/>Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, living, powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart <br/><br/>1 Pet 1:22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth <br/>Hearing and doing the Word changes our souls, this is not God’s responsibility, this is our responsibility<br/><br/>Js 4:7 obey God resist the devil and he will flee from you <br/><br/>The major way believers close the door to the devil is to get their minds renewed with the Word and by practicing the Word <br/><br/>3.
