The blood of Christ was poured out for you. Communion is a lot more than simply an act of remembrance. Yes, we participate in communion to remember that we have been saved by blood. First, the old covenant blood of the Passover, and second, the new covenant blood of Jesus.<br><br> The spirit within you hungers and thirsts for righteousness. Christ is righteous. You learned last week that the spirit within you is the Holy Spirit and you must feed it with the body of Christ. In the same way, you must quench its thirst by drinking the blood of Christ. <br><br> It may sound a little grotesque, but you MUST satisfy the hunger and thirst of the Holy Spirit within you.
