A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School, Dr. Welch received a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina and later was a Research Associate Graduate of the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute. He has won advocacy awards from the American Psychological Association, and took a hard stand against their involvement in torture under the Bush Administration. Dr. Welch currently lives and practices clinical psychology in Sausalito, California.</p>
