Jeffrey Miller interview-150th anniversary of the birth of Pop Warner

<p>Tonight’s show will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of legendary college football coach Glenn Scobey “Pop” Warner who was born on April 5, 1871 in New York State, played football for Cornell in the late 19thcentury and then began his illustrious coaching career in 1895.</p> <p>He along with Amos Alonzo Stagg was one of the most inventive and visionary coaches of his time, developing the single wing and double wing formations and coaching two of the greatest college football players of his time: Jim Thorpe and Ernie Nevers.</p> <p>To help us commemorate his life tonight’s guest is biographer Jeff Miller. Jeff is an esteemed author and football scholar who has written numerous football histories during the past 30 years, several of which I have read and enjoyed immensely.</p> <p>In 2015 Jeff released his biography of Pop Warner titled “Pop Warner: a Life on the Gridiron”.</p>
