Episode 2.20 - In the Murder Castle with Sara Tantlinger and Matt Corley

<p>This week, we're excited to have the opportunity to record a special episode with Matt Corley and <a href="https://saratantlinger.com/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Sara Tantlinger</a> about a very cool project they have in the works. For those who don't know them, Matt is a writer who specializes in RPG gamebooks and who has also launched his own publishing company, <a href="https://www.saturday-morning-scenarios.com/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Saturday Morning Scenarios</a>. Sara is a writer, a poet, editor, and teacher whose works include the Bram Stoker Award-winning poetry collection <em>The Devil’s Dreamland: Poetry Inspired by H.H. Holmes, To Be Devoured&nbsp;</em>and&nbsp;<em>Love for Slaughter.&nbsp;</em>She also edited the upcoming anthology,&nbsp;<em>Not All Monsters,&nbsp;</em>from Strangehouse. The exciting project they are getting ready to release is the H.H. Holmes inspired novella&nbsp;<em>The Devil's City&nbsp;</em>and the accompanying RPG game,&nbsp;<em>Horror in the Windy City</em>. We often think of books being adapted into movies or TV shows, but I really think that Matt is on to something fun and unique by adapting literary works into immersive RPG games.</p> <p>The conversation with both of them was fascinating as we had a lot of fun as always but also learned what goes into creating an immersive project like <em>The Devil's City&nbsp;</em>and&nbsp;<em>Horror in the Windy City.&nbsp;</em>They are currently running a Kickstarter until Thursday, April 30th to help fund the project and we HIGHLY recommend backing it if you are able. The story and game are great and there are some gorgeous illustrations that will make it a must-own for horror fans.
