<p>This is Vaccine 411, the latest coronavirus vaccine information for June 22nd, 2021.</p><p><br></p><p>The World Health Organization warned the delta variant is the fastest and strongest strain yet, one that will “pick off” the most vulnerable. And by most vulnerable, they mean the unvaccinated. It called the fact we haven’t protected front line workers a catastrophic moral failure at a global level. Delta has now spread to 92 countries.</p><p><br></p><p>Indonesia had its largest one-day jump in new infections yesterday. The world's fourth most populous country has seen a surge in recent weeks blamed on travel during a holiday last month. In Jakarta, 80% of hospital beds are full. So far only 12.3 million of the country’s 270 million people are fully vaccinated.</p><p><br></p><p>Russian President Vladimir Putin said the coronavirus situation in some regions of that country is getting worse. That contrasts with a statement he made this month about how Russia handled the pandemic better than many other nations. Saturday Moscow registered a record 9,120 cases. The Kremlin has denied people's distrust of authorities is a reason behind low vaccination rates.</p><p><br></p><p>What many of the unvaccinated around the world fear might become a reality in Manila. The President there has threatened to jail people who refuse to take the shots. He was very clear, saying, "You choose, vaccine or I will have you jailed." The target is to vaccinate 70 million people this year, and so far they’re at only 2.1 million.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>But never underestimate just how serious people are about not taking the vaccine. Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley said he would literally rather retire from the sport and end his career than get a vaccine.
