“Veganism is not only a diet, but it extends to that I want to continue what I've been doing all my life — to break barriers” - Dave Leduc   Welcome to The Fit Vegan Podcast, I’m your host, Luckie Sigouin! Today, I had the pleasure of chatting with Dave Leduc! Dave is the current undefeated Lethwei openweight World Champion. In 2016, he became the first non-Burmese to ever win the prestigious Lethwei Golden Belt in over a thousand years of history. In 2017, he pioneered Lethwei in Japan alongside the International Lethwei Federation Japan (ILFJ) and went on to capture the “Lethwei in Japan” Openweight World Title in Tokyo. Dave now competes exclusively in the largest bare-knuckle organization in the world, the World Lethwei Championship (WLC) where he won the inaugural Cruiserweight World Title in 2019. Dave talks about the sport Lethwei and how it’s different from other combat sports. He also talks about what he loves about Myanmar’s culture and why he chose to stay in the country. Dave also dives deeper into his philosophy in life and how veganism changed his life. He also shares his plans of building a vegan tribe in Turkey. Join us and listen in! In this episode, we cover   [00:01 - 02:04] Introducing Dave Leduc  [02:05 - 14:18] The Intense Sport of Lethwei [14:19 - 21:13] Why Dave Fell In Love with Myanmar’s Culture [21:14 - 45:04] Diving Deeper Into the Philosophy of Veganism [45:05 - 01:02:50] Building a Vegan Tribe in Turkey Key Quotes   “As long as we're going to no mistreat and hurt and enslave and breed and kidnap animals, we're gonna not be able to get along with each other. If we're not able to be kind to innocent animals, how the f*** are we going to be able to be kind to each other?” - Dave Leduc   “We have one life to live right now. We know that. Might as well make sure that you're the happiest while you're there.” - Dave Leduc   Connect with Dave on https://www.instagram.com/kingleduc/ (Instagram)!   Check out
