83. Jake Thiel & Phil Berna - Mens Canadian Rugby 7s Players & Best Friends

<p>I am joined with Jake Thiel &amp; Phil Berna - also known as Snake and Goose. They are Canadian Men Rugby Sevens Players and both played in the Tokyo Olympics this year. They also have their own podcast: Snake &amp; Goose the Podcast. I’ve had a few athletes on the pod and I always find it so fun to get to hear their stories and learn more about it - I really don’t know much about rugby as a profession, but Jake and Phil shared really good insight into what it's really like to be an athlete, from payment, brand sponsorships, the rigorous training &amp; traveling. They are absolutely hilarious and I had so much fun chatting with them. They talked about how they met (spoiler: it was love at first sight), the realities of playing a sport that has physical limitations, mental health, trying to balance a social life, and building a brand for themselves.
