<p>Today's episode is from an hour long keynote I gave at the 2022 Midwest Association of Colleges and Employers Annual Conference. Despite being widely used, the name "first-gen" has a negative connotation. Yet, many college career service administrators, employers, and even us, first-gen students/professionals frequently use it. I talk about helping first-gen students change the narrative, embrace their journey, value their identity, and the power of vulnerability.
