On "EWTN News Nightly" tonight: A federal judge has suspended the pro-life Texas Heartbeat Law that bans abortions after a baby's heartbeat is detected. Host and Managing Editor of EWTN Pro-Life Weekly, Catherine Hadro, joins to share her reaction and what this ruling means for the Texas law. Pro-life groups announced they “are confident that the Texas Heartbeat Act will ultimately withstand this legal challenge.” The White House says the law violates women’s rights to “safe and legal abortion.” As the Senate continues to work on the debt ceiling, Congressional Republicans want action on stopping the flow of illegal migrants surging into the country. Republicans say President Biden and the vice president are ignoring the crisis at the Southern Border. And, there are new developments in the trial at the Vatican of Cardinal Angelo Becciu and others accused of mismanagement of funds. The defense acknowledged weakness in its case and said it will do more investigating. The trial will resume on November 17th. Vatican Analyst for EWTN News, Andrea Gagliarducci, brings us up to speed on the trial. Finally this evening, a few weeks ago we had pro-life filmmaker and President of the Vulnerable People Project, Jason Jones, on the show to talk about the work his organization is doing for Afghanistan. The interview helped him get in contact with an American citizen seeking to get out of the country. Jones tells us more on that.
