One idea can change your life. Sara Blakely came up with the idea for Spanx in the late 1990s when she was just 27 years old and working as a salesperson, selling fax machines door to door. Around this time, she was invited to a party and wanted to look her best in a white pair of trousers. She took a pair of scissors and cut the feet off of a pair of tights.
